about azgrc

The Arizona Golden Retriever Connection is an all volunteer organization dedicated to finding safe, loving, and permanent homes for unwanted Golden Retrievers in Arizona.   If you do not currently live in Arizona and are looking to adopt, please visit our national partner site here.

Golden Retrievers are the second most popular breed in the U.S. today.  Like many dogs, Goldens all too often find themselves homeless for a variety of reasons.  That’s where we come in.  We are committed to the rescue, foster, and placement of any needy Golden Retriever in the Phoenix metro area.   If you’d like to help us save a Golden Retriever in need, click here!  Or email [email protected] today.

From “search and rescue”, to “therapy,” Golden Retrievers give back!  We aim to participate in a variety of activities that help showcase the ways that Goldens give to our communities.  Throughout the year, many of our volunteers and their Goldens visit hospitals and assisted living care facilities.  During the Rodeo-Chediski wildfires of 2002, two of our therapy dogs helped provide much needed respite for evacuees and emergency personnel.  Learn more here.

AZGRC also works hard to share the joy that these beautiful Golden Retrievers gives us and all of our members.  Our volunteers and members have participated in three nationally televised Fiesta Bowl Parades in 2000, 2001, and 2002 and received the “Kid in All of Us” award two years running.

We also organize several get-togethers for all of our applicants, volunteers, and members.  Applicants can look forward to several “meet and greets” where they can see all of our available Goldens at one time.  We also are proud to present “Gotcha Day.” An annual celebration of all of our members and their adopted Golden Retrievers.  For all of our events, click here.
