goldens in foster care
but
not available for adoption
Many of the Goldens rescued by
AZGRC are not immediately put on the website as
available for adoption. When Goldens
arrive, the first visit is to the vet. Unfortunately, many of
our dogs come in with serious medical issues which require
treatment. During this time, the dogs are not available
for adoption and will be considered on Medical Hold until the
issue has been resolved.
A healthy dog is placed in a foster home for evaluation before
being posted as available. Our
fosters play an important role in evaluating the dog’s
temperament and helping us determine what type of situation
would be the best fit for both the dog and the family.
During this evaluation period, it is not unusual for the foster
family to fall in love with the dog and consider adopting.
We always allow our fosters the first opportunity to a adopt a
dog under their care.

Hi! My name is Rosie and I
am looking for a special family to love me during my
golden years. I am very sweet, don’t take up much room
and I am very quiet. I love to be around my family and
get petted. I like to go for walks, but can’t go too
far, too fast. You know how it is when you get older.
You want to just take your time and enjoy things. I
would like a quieter home where we can relax and enjoy
each other’s company. I’d do better in a house with no
stairs and a nice yard with grass. I would be OK with
other dogs and cats as long as they don’t want to play
too rough. I’m just a mellow girl who needs a family to
love and a quiet home.
