RAWHIDE DANGERS

All
Golden’s love to chew but it’s up to you humans to make
sure we are chewing on the right things. My human was
on that computer thing (hate it, takes valuable pet/play
time from me) and discovered the dangers of Rawhide, Pig
Ears, Cow Hooves, you know all that good stuff! Come to
find out those are very bad for dogs as you don’t know
where they come from and could have antibiotics,
arsenic, pesticides and other scary things. Cow Hooves
can break apart when chewing and a sharp piece could be
swallowed, Pig Ears can carry bacteria. Some whos-it
called the FDA suggests that humans wash their hands
after handling these products. Yuch! Maybe those
aren’t so tasty after all.
What is good for us Goldens? Your taking all the yummy
fun stuff away. Here some of recommended chew items,
you can use that interweb thing to find out more (just
remember to save one hand for petting). If you do give
rawhide do it sparingly and watch your dog carefully,
use only US made products. But some even better things
are chews made from vegetable based products and
in-fused (whatever that is) with flavors, hardened
rubber chews (some come with flavoring) just be sure
that whatever you get doesn’t fragment when chewed. My
human gives me Nylabones (with flavor) and those last
forever and we have never had any problems. Also
slippers, couches, rugs, cats are good for chewing too!
Okay my human said I can’t add to the list, scratch
those.
