I’m not Toyota
but I do want to talk to you about a MAJOR
recall…..dog toys!! Check your toys – what do
the tags say – For dogs and cats (Yuck) only?
Please make sure they do. You can ask your
‘humans’ to check the tags for you.
My mom just told
me about the most horrible story about one
particular dog getting sick and crossing the
rainbow bridge because he ate the stuffing from
a human toy. You know the ones I’m talking
about – all those cute and soft toys that belong
to the little humans that might be sharing your
house with you.
Well, it seems
that most of the human toys have stuffing that
contains ingredients for flame retardants and
mite control! And if that isn’t bad enough,
it’s designed to become a gel which is highly
toxic. This seems like it would be bad for all
those little humans wandering around but I don’t
think they know the JOY of eating the stuffing
from a toy.
My mom said that
the dog ate a little human’s teddy bear and was
very sick. When the vet operated to remove what
they thought was an intestinal obstruction they
found a huge gelatin type mess inside and the
poor dog’s intestines were black and the tissue
was dead. There was nothing they could do as he
had no living intestine left. Being very upset,
the vet called the manufacturer of the Teddy
Bear and learned about the flame retardants and
mite control ingredients being put on the
stuffing in human toys.
Mom says she hope
there will be more warnings about this and wants
all other dog owners to be aware of this.
I don’t know
about you, but I LOVE to demolish my stuffed
toys. My brother, Finnigan, likes to tear out
the stuffing and sometimes he’ll eat it if Mom
or Dad isn’t watching. Boys sure are dumb! So,
my mom said she isn’t going to take any
chances. She’s been making lots of trips to the
garbage can.
The bad news –
most of our toys have been thrown out.
The good new –
we’re getting new toys in my house!
Get your humans
to read this and look at the tags on your toys.
Remember for dogs and cats (Yuck!) only!
Gotta run –
there’s a new bunny toy with my name on it.
