carly 9 Month Female Foster Home Contact #44-10

I’m just your typical beautiful, Golden blonde puppy, not quite a year old.  I’ve got all the usual puppy traits.  I’m curious, nosy, affectionate, and easily excitable because it’s a brand new world out there!  I’m not telling why I’m so shy of strangers but once I figure out that you’re one of the good guys, I’ll expect some loving and especially belly rubs, my absolute favorite.

My foster mom says that I’m learning lots of new things like not to counter surf, not to eat the baseboard, and not to jump up when I greet you after you’ve been away a while, all of those good house dog things.  I know sit and down pretty well and once my shoulder feels better, I’ll be working on that walking nicely on the leash thing. I like lots of affection, chewing on rawhides, working on a stuffed Kong, and playing with anyone who can keep up with me.  Because I’m shy, I’m sometimes uncomfortable with new dogs or small children, but I’m fine once I can see that they are okay.  And that’s good cuz then we can PLAY!  Do cats play?  I don’t know because I haven’t met one yet.

I’m housebroken and crate-trained and I know how to use the doggy door as well.  I’d really like to be your beautiful new girl, so email the AZGRC folks and say you want to meet Carly, your dream girl, okay?

**Our policy is that we will not place Golden Retrievers under the age of 3 with families that have children that are 3 or less years of age. Young Golden Retrievers can be very excitable around young children, so we recommend older Goldens for families with very young children.

Edie 4 Year Female Foster Home Contact #52-10

Good Day to my loyal subjects. My name is Princess Edie. I am very sweet girl that loves to be petted and pampered. My favorite place to lay and watch over my kingdom is on the bed or on the couch.  In my foster home, I have four loyal cat subjects. Although I cannot get them to answer to my every beckoning whim, they are cats after all, I do enjoy having them around.  Right now my subjects also include 3 other dogs. They are older and mellow and do not bother me. There is one young female dog that I have banished from my kingdom as I need to be the center of attention and she thinks of herself as a princess too. I am totally housebroken and will tell you if I need to survey my outside domain.  I occasionally will play with a toy but I am not destructive at all. I know basic commands and walk well on my leash. I will sit for hours to be brushed and petted. I do go in the pool but only on the top step to cool off. I can swim but I feel that is beneath me.  I ride very well in the car and will lie down and watch the world go by. I am a great watch dog and will only bark if I hear a noise that is out of the ordinary. I enjoy human puppies (kids) and have a tendency to follow them around.  I do use my paws and my voice to get attention so I may accidentally scratch or scare a very young child. If your kingdom is in need of a royal princess please fill out an application and let AZGRC know you are interested in me. One of my subjects will handle the details.

Lola 12 year Female Foster Home Contact #59-09

Cheerio!  Lola here, a golden sweetie who is about 12 gentle years old.  I got my nickname as the Dancing Food Goddess because I am instantly restored to puppyhood at the sight or sound of food preparation.  I dance on the tips of my puppy toes, twirl and display all sorts of enthusiasm in the presence of food...even for green beans and carrots.  I never know how my foster humans might disguise peanut butter cupcakes!

If you’ve read this much, you are not deterred by my chronological age.  That’s a good thing.  Everyone loves an oldies station – reliable and pleasant to have near you.  But really, I am kind of a puppy with arthritis and a lifetime of lessons that eliminated any bad habits I might have had.  I am good on a leash with some determination but not big bursts of speed.  Mild arthritis will do that to you.

I’m not really keen on being commanded to do things but that’s not a big deal since I’m a good girl.  What I love to do is to make the rounds, making sure everyone is okay.  I exercise myself this way – going on patrol.  I check to see if anyone needs extra affection, if anyone is sleeping in a dangerous place, if there are birds to be chased away, if anyone has stolen a beloved toy when I wasn’t watching.

Your maybe-future-dancing-Lola will need to have some mild medication each day.  I take Benadryl for allergies and Rimadyl or Glucosamine/Chondroitin for my arthritis.

Still reading?  Gracious sakes, I love you for that!!!  I want to meet you.  I’m sooo curious about YOU!  Thanks for being curious about me.  I would love a home with someone who could spend time being delighted by my company and antics.  Oh, and food is good.  I don’t bark a lot and am not an aggressive gal.  I like walks and affection.  A slow pace is a good pace for me but I have a lot to give you if you’re willing to give me a chance.

Lola, the Dancing Food Goddess
