Roxy and Nokio came to
Arizona Golden Retriever Connection as a bonded pair.
They were surrendered because their family had a baby
and no longer had time for Roxy and Nokio. Although they
had been indoor dogs now they were stuck outside in the
July heat during the day. Roxy was 4 years old and had
lived her whole life with Nokio who was 6 years old.
They were great dogs that loved to swim and chase toys.
Adopting pairs can be very difficult as most people are
overwhelmed with 147lbs (combined weight), two swishing
Golden tails, two mouths to feed, two dog beds to buy,
two, two, two of everything to start out with. The
discussion was had about splitting Roxy and Nokio up so
that they could get adopted more easily but Rick and
Cindy, their foster parents were willing to foster them
until Roxy and Nokio’s forever family was found. July
passed then August, September, October, November,
December and a new year started. January, February,
March and then in April it happened, the perfect person
came along and could see beyond the two, two, two of
everything and see the double your pleasure, double your
fun. Roxy and Nokio went for a play date with Richard
and his dog Cosmo and everything went well. Roxy, Nokio
and Cosmo went everywhere with their new Dad. They
settled into their new routine with ease and only an
occasional incident like the case of the “Phantom
Shredder”
Today Roxy, Nokio and
Cosmo have a fourth Golden Retriever sibling that they
share their life with. Guess that would be double,
double your pleasure, double, double your fun.
