hunter

a path to love

Rescued        August 2010

Adopted         October 2010

Hunter was 8 months old; shy, nervous with a possible orthopedic problem and in the Westside shelter. The shelter is a scary place especially for a sensitive young Golden. Arizona Golden Retriever Connection got him out of the shelter and to a young couple that wanted just to foster dogs and help get them started on the path to their forever home. That path led to Carol and John, who were looking for a young Golden Retriever to add to their family which included Honey, a Golden Retriever and 2 felines, TC and Copy Cat. Honey and Hunter were best pals from the moment they meet. They would spend hours playing with each other and pulling their toys out of their plastic toy tub, one toy at a time.  And eventually, TC and Copy Cat decided that Hunter was a cool dude.

Hunter went into a growth spurt and it was discovered that he had a missing growth plate on his right leg and would require surgery so that he would not have long term effects. Hunter came through the surgery with flying colors.

Today Hunter not only has Honey, TC and Copy Cat for pals but another Golden Girl joined the family. Hunter went from scared and alone to a home that surrounds him with love and companionship.
