If you want a dog who is obedient, well-mannered, and who knows
how to chase a tennis ball, then you should meet me. My name is
Jake and I’m 10 ½ years young. I’m eager to meet someone who
wants to throw my tennis ball, go for walks, pet me, and rub my
tummy. I’m a laid back kind of guy who doesn’t like big crowds
or suddenly meeting new people or situations. But I’m
inquisitive and friendly so I make friends quickly once we’ve
been introduced. My foster mom says that I have good manners
and always walk nicely on the leash. I’ll give you my famous
expressive look to let you know when I’m ready for a walk, some
attention, or to go outside.
I have a couple
of medical issues you should know about. I have allergies for
which I get special dog food and I take some medicine every few
days for pancreatitis. I’m still gaining weight because I was
pretty skinny when I got here to AZGRC. Other than that, I’m
ready to become part of your family. I like to have a pal
around to hang out with and to show me the ropes. So if you
already have a pet, I’d be a great addition to a quiet home. I
know sit, stay, lay down, shake, and let’s go. I’ll even fetch
my leash so you don’t have to!
